Sometimes I feel there should be stainless restamps of most problematic rockers and other non-structural body panel. Other than not being magnetic, they can be welded in just as easily and possibly cure cancer!

Bet they would be hard to stamp out,and cost more than the truck was worth unfortunately..but I agree the crappy repair panels and rockers they sell do not seem to last very long..

I'm surprised they aren't selling rockers made of polyurethane like tupperware yet..:surepal:..just glue them on with silicone RTV...
J.C. Whitney would love them...

The more I cut into the K5 the more rust I find. At some point I just need to stop knowing that I will not get all the rust.

Plastic repair panels FTW. Our square bodies can become Saturns. There are already body shops using adhesives to attach panels, so we're half-way there. Just be sure to stiffen the frame with a roll cage, etc. so parts don't start popping off when you wheel. If all of y'all would start buying fiberglass tubs, doors, hoods, etc, maybe the price would come down to where we can make our rides immortal.

If Delorean can make a car out of stainless steel, them GM could too..

I can imagine what a bare Blazer shell made of stainless steel would list for..:yikes:..but you'd never have to battle rust ever again..be worth it if you plan on never selling it..

I think they would have been a success if he had not used such a lousy engine & driveline.(and he didn't resort to selling coke to finance his company!)....but if they never rotted away,no one would need to ever buy another one too,so that alone probably would have finished them off eventually..
