okay
my 90 jimmy
sometimes she stales out at idle
sometimes she doesnt
its so hit and miss
give me some ideas to look for?

how does it run, in general, performance, is the throttle "there" idle like crap?, smoothly? does it "get up and go" when you hit the gas pedal?

kinda need to give us alittle more info on the total engine running performance if ya can..

mine stalled out a few years ago, but was also idling like crap, and had no power,,,turned out to be a bad fuel pump,,,,,but being computer controlled, yours could be something very simple.

shes got some balls when i get on the skinny pedal
its just sometimes at idle she stalls out
seems to happen more when im turning at idle
she idles at about 10kmh
i have a throttle body spacer on
and sometimes if i give it to much gas around a corner she bogs down
its a 350 700 combo

sure you're just not running it too low on fuel when it does this?

mine will bog down and try to stall sometimes when i run it real low on fuel, the tanks are big enough to where the fuel runs away from the pick-up during hard acceleration and hard cornering, and there ya have it.

i dunno, just an idea, but if it's just around corners or whatever during certain driving conditions,,,,

i never let my tanks go below the half mark
but that wouldnt explain the at idle and stalling out?
it idles smoothly til right before it dies

:doah: oh yeah,,,idling :doah:

well, it could be a number of things, i am assuming it's not throwing any codes, since you didn't mention anything about it?

still very well could be a fuel pump problem, mine idled fine for awhile, then progressivly got worse, when the pump was replaced, i noticed it idled WAY better than it ever did to begin with, even when i thought it was idling fine.

check your fuel pressure, could also be something in the distributor, or coil going bad, like i said could be multiple things.

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter ?, also check for vacuum leaks, if your jimmy has more than 100.000 miles on the fuel pump its possible the fuel pump is on its way out.

This happened to a friend of mine that had TBI. Turned out to be his ignition module found in the distributer. His engine will just shut of at idle, it wouldn't even studder first. You can take this out and have it tested at some auto parts stores.
