i probably know the answer to my question but I feel I should get another opinion, I have a 77 K5 blazer SB 350 with a 4BBL edelbrock carb, just did a tune up with spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, new fuel pump, fuel sending unit, however now it sounds like its losing power wants to stall, when its up to temperature since i installed a new thermostat it will idle correctly

My question is think its running rich should I need to adjust the carb? when its idling sounds like it wants to shut off unless i give it some gas then when i put into gear will stall and shut off, I checked i dont have any signs of a vacuum leak.

any

First, double check the plug wire routing. Have you ever checked the timing on this setup? Just wondering if you have known good timing mark/tab, as sometimes parts swapping leads to a setup that's way off (I want to say something like 90 degrees). If so, check the timing. Does it crank any differently than it did before?

Doesn't hurt to check out all the new parts, as new parts are often bad these days. What plugs and wires did you use?

There's no reason the carb should work any differently now than it did before. How did it run before you started swapping parts?

Definitely check spark plugs wires 7 and 5 easy to get crossed and will idle almost normal. Might smell rich. Will miss under a load thou.

So it ran fine prior to the tune-up and now has issues? If that is the case double-check the work and parts that was just done before chasing something else.

If it ran fine before, double check everything you replaced. Make sure plug wires click. I have had missfires from plugs not being on all the way. I would make sure you have adequate fuel supply to the carb. Disconnect fuel line to carb and put it in coffee can and crank it for 30 seconds. Should get 6 oz of fuel, IIRC.

My ‘76 was stalling when put in gear and it was the vacuum line routing. Getting that correct (as far as I know so far) and then tuning the carb made a world of difference.
