What you are thinking of is the removal of sulfur from diesel fuel, leading to a lack of lubrication for your fuel system.. that happened in June of '06. (at the refinery level.. it showed up that fall at the pump )

Injectors are still out there failing, so that tells me that the problem hasn't been adequately addressed yet.. at least not by the engine manufacturers or fuel companies..

OK so it is needed. is this good stuff to run?

Check my sig links and vendor thread.. lot's of detail as to why distillate additives are not the best way to go..

not trying to be a product pusher, but the fact is, big fleets that need their fuel to perform are discovering the limitations of the stanandynes, howes etc, and I'm not talking about trucking companies..

ok anyone else?

I am no expert on additives and am no vendor, but I do know you DO need additives.
Before they came up with the ULSD I was using the power service additives and they made a difference.
Haven't run a diesel for the past 2 years so I have yet to deal with it.
I did however come back from a trip with my brother in law in a freightliner with a 3406 CAT, and he noticed that he's getting about 10% less mileage out of the new fuel.
So it's confirmed it's is less power, and it's not just 1% like some claim:mad:

OK wow that sucks for us. what additives did you run?

Power Service
I get it at walmart, it's the cheapest.
Now I might try that additive that 4by4god sells, as soon as I get my diesel back on the road.

Yeah, give that stuff a try. You should use something and I'd like to see another opinion on that before I get my vehicle back on the road:bow::haha:
