Standard Transmission id plate.

I need to find a source for standard transmission identification.

I am intrested in the location of serial numbers and if the id plate is missing what other forms of id are used.

I am specifically interested in the 3-4 speed units.

I come from Vancouver Island, Victoria, and some of the best 4X4ing I ever did was there. I also used to live in north van but never 4X4'd in the area.

I have nothing 'wheelable' at the moment. Usually is was Eagle Ridge - for the locality. Otherwise its Stave-eastward or north of Squamish.

Whipsaw is still my all-time favourite.
