hey there, my truck hasnt been started in bout 2 months, and i have the steering lines out of the box b/c i need to get new ones made, and was wondering if i could just start the truck to let it run for a few minutes since its been so long. will fluid shoot out or would it only do that if the wheels are turned?

thanks

it will shoot some fluid out anyway , just whatever is caught in the pump .

You could jumper the hoses together with some fuel line , or hook them back up , or point them into a bucket .

but nothing bad will happen? like it wont cause the steering pump to overheat or anything

the reason they arent in is becuase they are different fittings, im going to get custom ones made. i need to put more fluid in anyways since they have been disconnected for a while now.

remove the belt. shouldnt have any ill effects if you only let it run for a few minutes. just watch your temp gauge.

alright thanks a bunch. i jus feel bad that it hasnt been started in a little over 2 months
