the cage is complete and the rig and cage are painted. i used 200' of tubing. i did have considerable waste though. i'm sure someone with more experience could have used less. i will post recent pics some time this weekend. bboy

finally got some pics

it almost finished. sorry it took so long update. bboy

Definately bad-ass. You've inspired me! Of course i probably wont be building a full cage anytime soon.

The cage was only partially welded on the vehicle, 8 tacks were cut to remove it. The body was painted as well as the cage, then the cage was slid back on for final welding at 8 joints.
I went to shiloh ridge last weekend. I will be in Gilmer March 18 and hope to be in Katemcy for Memorial Day. Let me know when y'all are having a ride since you are so close I may make it.

and those are 42s with 52" front springs, 56" rear springs, with zero rates in front and rear. and a 2" body lift. I'm glad you like it. thanks, bboy

Come check out AustinK5.com, we try and make a run once a month and we usually go to Akatemck every time they are open. :)

Very Cool!!! I like the way you tubed the front gill area and bumper. Exactly what I was looking for.

I'm not going full exocage but inner cage with tube front and rear and some protection for the corners. Sliders of course.

Thanks for the pics!!:cool1:

So was there any body/cage interference issues..rubbing denting etc? Looks great too excelent work:waytogo:

I really had very little trouble for a maiden voyage. No issues with the cage or body, it really doesn't move around all that much. I was expecting trouble at the body penetrations.
The alternator did go out on Sunday. I will have to check where the 85 harness and vortec harness meet to make sure the wiring is ok. The cs130 alt. requires 35 to 350 ohms resistance in the trigger wire. bboy

hey brent how are ya?? its Ryan the guy from alto with the chopped up black burban- hey it had a blast riding this weekend even though i broke and i want to keep in touch- but i wasnt able to email ya from your profile so write me whenever you get a chance please. i have my emial posted under my profile man. and by the way i am jealous of your rig.

Looks good. I would have added a lower bar forthe rear 1/4 like you have on the front. Thats where I always tagged my K5 and ripped the tail lights out. I know you have the diamond plate but thats still not going to protectthe tail light.

Its one of the best looking exo's I have seen on that style GM. Good work.
