I wanted to get the 396 in this weekend but I ran into a small snag. I couldnt keep the valve cover gaskets from shifting out of place. I got the super thick gaskets which I think is the problem. But other than that, it's ready for it's new home. I pulled the 350 and pressure washed the engine compartment. Oh, and that's just mountain dew that spilled in the first picture :rolleyes:

For an update, I got some new gaskets for the valve covers. The thick ones that wouldnt work were cork, and the new thinner ones are rubber. I sure hope they dont leak...They're torqued down, so I think I'm finally ready to stick in the big block. I probably wont get to it until later this week though...

I do like the badges but it’s much more fun when people think you still have that 33 year old 150 hp motor I there. :D
