Starter Plates

What do you guys know about starter plates? Where can i get one, how hard is it to install? How effective are they?

Uh, are you talking about starter "shims"? 'Not sure if I've heard about starter plates.

Do you mean heat shields as in plates like that? Like if you run headers to protect the starter from getting overly hot? If so lots of places carry them from JCWhitney to Summit.....They run about $25 or so give or take....
