about three weeks ago my starter **** the bed so i got a rebuilt one and replaced the battery. when it got really warm/hot it would start to engage then just click repeatedly. i got a flowmater to put on and i drove less then 2 mins to my grandparents house took off the muffler and did some stuff around the house and needed to go home to grab a connector i forgot and the truck just clicked when i tried starting it. i didn't think the exaust had anything to do with it but it might help you tell me whats going on. i put a power pack on it and it fired up and i let it run for a few mins and shut it off and tried restarting it and just clicking. so after all of that i thought it was the battery so to test it real quick i truned on the headlights and left them one for a min or two and they never got dim. i need to drive my truck to soccer practices and work what do you guys think i should try/replace?

Try leaving the headlights on while you try starting it. If they dim, might be loose or corroded cables or bad battery. Start eliminating problems before you throw a bunch of parts at it.

Starter heating up and won't function. It happened to mine. Couple things you can do. 1 put a heat shield on it. 2 get a mini high torque starter. Last but not least do both. I started with the the first one and ended up doing both and have had no more problems.

or he could go with a remote solenoid too,m to help that issue.. I love mine...

At this point I'd bet his battery is a prob.. if a jump pack started it, thats usually the case...

so the battery was good and it started up atleast ten times then about an hour later the starter just wanted to click, so it's fine on min then it **** the next and i don't wanta throw $$ into it that i don't have to.
