After Doing My 700 To 465 Swap I Hooked My Starter Up And Fired It Up. It Started Fine But The Starter Makes A Lot Different Sound Now. It Is Alot Quieter And At A Different Pitch.

Do I Need A Shim?

Do I Have The Little Wire Hooked To The Wrong Lead?

Should I Leave It Alone And Be Happy It Starts.

I Obviusly Have A New Flywheel In Place Of The The Old Flexplate Could This Make It Sound Different

Thanks

flexplate/flywheel SHOULD be the same, but with wear and tolerances, they are probably slightly different.

If it starts and doesn't grind or bind, I wouldn't worry about it. :)

flywheel...

Its quieter because the flywheel is much heavier and thicker than an automatic tranny's flexplate--it does not "ring" and it doesn't "flex" while cranking...if it sounds quiet and no clashing or stripping noise,I'd say its perfect--like they say,"If it ain't broke, dont fix it!"..
