Starter Question

Well apparently the starter I picked up is a little bigger than the one that is in there now

The one Schucks sold me is a 4 1/2" and the one that came out of my truck is a 3 1/2", didn't notice this till I got it in and tried to put the bolts on but they were too short

So can the 4 1/2" starter be used with my Blazer?

It sounds like you have a gear reduction starter in there now. A PO must have put it in. People use them because they are lighter and spin the engine better. They are smaller and use shorter bolts.
The larger starter is the stock starter for your truck. Get some longer bolts. It should fit.

Well they swapped me the correct starter.. accoding to them there were the two types that year and the smaller one cost more. Oh well, it is in now. Thanks
