Starter Question

are 2wd and 4wd starters the same?

starters in question are both for 6.2s mated to 700R4s. Just asking before I demobilize a truck.

They should be the same. I have never seen a difference in the starters between the two versions of drivetrain.

Ok just wondered because everytime in the past I have bought a starter they ask 2 or 4 wheel drive.

They probably ask if it has a/c too, you think starters are different from a/c trucks to non-a/c trucks?

I only go to classes where I can understand the professor. Looks like my schedule is clear for the day.

I would call the parts place and get the part number for both 2wd and 4wd version. That will tell you for sure. Then have them pull them and look at them side by side if there is a question. I have acouple starters here that have slightly dif mounting positions- One mounts closer to the oil pan, the other farther from it.
