well i got to thinking the other day, about how i was going to wire my amp gauge, and i was wondering since a typical starter cylinoid has 3 post for the wiring

the big one for the battery and two little ones, i remember using one of them but what is the other post for?

could i hook my one wire for the amp gauge to the charge back wire on its post, and hook the other wire to the battery post on the starter and get a reading?

any body got any suggestions on how to hook it up?

the other post sends 12v out when the starter is energized...

I hate amp gauges.... I usually do a shunt setup...

the charge back wire is the wire that goes from the back of the alternator down to the starter and connects the positive battery cable to charge the battery.

never heard the "back" thrown in there...

not sure what year your dealing with, but my 87's charge wire ran to the junction block by the booster thru the eng harness..

anyway, "rest of car" means exactly that, picking up the power before it goes into the fusebox.. either at the junction block, alternator or starter...
