Someone has the wiring botched up really good. Can someone verify what I am supposed to have down to the starter.

Here is what I think is supposed to be down to the starter:

1 #14 purple starter solenoid wire
1 #10awg that goes up to the fire wall power block
1 #4 positive battery cable

Does that cover it??

So attached is the wiring diagram that I could find. My truck had a #8 red wire that was cut down by the starter and also cut up by the power distribution block on the fire wall. (someone hacked in some temporary starting wires) so I want to fix it correct.

Reviewing the wiring diagram, it would indication that you had a #2 from the batter to the starter post and a #8 from the battery to the power distribution block.

My 90 jumps from the starter post to the distribution block with the #8.....

whats your take on this....I am assuming the schematic is incorrect representation....

Electrically, the diagram and what you describe are the same thing. Doesn't matter if the wire feeding the + junction block stops at the starter post or just runs straight to it. It allows you to not have another wire running across the engine bay.

Just fixed/upgraded my wiring as well, and it now matches what you describe ( No 2 wire to starter post/ No 8 wire to junction block/ No 10 wire to fuse panel)
