Starter won\'t quit Starting!!

I just fired up the 350 in the K30, and even when I turned it off and took the key OUT of the ignition, the starter was still cranking! What is the deal??? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Thanks!

ya know mine just did that a few times but then went away. I figure it is either the solenoid, or it is possible that your wires might be shorting out on the heat shield. Check to make sure nothing might be touching and everything that is suppossed to be grounded is grounded and the hot wires dont touch any grounds. If not try replacing the starter, thats what I am going to do, love those lifetime warranties on my parts.

This happened to me once. I just disconnected the battery and it seemed to reset itself. It could only have been a sticking solenoid. If it can't be reset, you might have a shorted wire.

Now that I think about it, that would be a pretty mean prank: wire a diode across the solenoid terminals so that once it turns on, it never releases. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
