Hey guys it's been awhile. I ha e a 87 k5 blazer with a 350 and I've been getting these starters from O'Reilly they last about 6 or 7 months and starter solenoid start messing up. Is their any better starters out their

Most starters should last much longer. My thought is you have another issue effecting the starter. Do you have headers ? My guess is heat is damaging your solenoids.
If the start signal circuit is still factory design you can go to the late model permanent magnet mini starter, most users do well with those. A/c delco starters used to be good, but to honest and probably jinks myself, my starter is 15 years old.

Definitely should get more life out of them than that. Good battery cables, good battery connection, good ground, engine doesn't excessively crank, etc?

That said, mini-starters are the way ahead. If Schucks (O'Reilly) sells mini-starter "upgrades", in the past anyway, they would allow you to upgrade by paying the difference.

I'm still waiting for my Schucks shocks (Think they are Monroe's) from 20 some years ago, to die, so I can get better ones. :haha:
