i have been having some problems starting my blazer and tonight it wouldnt turn over at all. it smells like it burns oil pretty bad. it cranks and its not the battery but it just wont turn over. i am sure it gets flooded but there is no helping it. i need to check the plugs, but what could it be if it is burning lots of oil?

So the engine turns over (cranks), it just doesn't start.

Burning oil is rings or valve seals, you need to see if you've got spark and fuel if it won't start.

What usually happens is it with try to start once and then die and then after that it just will not start until like the next day. Last night it wouldnt start and this morning I went out and it fired right up.

Again, check spark and fuel.

It might be flooding so bad it won't restart until it evaporates, but something like the ignition module is quite a bit more likely in this case.
