every once in ahwile i will try to start my blazer and nothing, not even a click like a dead battery. i will jump it and it starts after that like nothing wrong. the volt gauge is reading 13-14 volts. any ideas

Check for loose or dirty connections. Even if there isn't "growth" on the terminals if they are gray they are dirty.

Is the volt gauge reading 13-14 volts while running or before jumping it with just the key on? If its around 13 volts before jumping then I would say maybe bad connections or the starter solenoid is sticking/dirty and the extra amperage from the jump just frees it for a while.

while running it is at 13-14 volts, i can shut it off right after jumping it and it starts fine

Next time it does this try lightly tapping on the starter/solenoid with a piece of wood before jumping. If it starts then just needs new starter.
