As the semester is coming to an end, I'm about to have a bunch of time to wrench on my junk. So, I've been doing what I can to get organized in the garage.

For example, I had two overflowing drawers of pliers. I ended up buying some racks that hold them vertically (instead of them laying flat all over each other).

I've starting to organize screwdrivers and ratchets too. I'm dreading my wrenches. :doah:

Anyone have any good organization ideas that you care to share?

Subscribed to watch this. My new toolbox is a mess and I have no clue how I am going to organize all my sockets, wrenches, and screwdrivers. Sockets seem to be the biggest issue, I would like to dedicate 2 drawers to them, but I can't seem to find anything that will fit the small drawers and organize both 1/4 and 3/8 in one drawer with 1/2 stuff in another.

I've got several of the Lista/Vidmar/etc style "high density storage" cabinets. These are mounted on heavy industrial casters for mobility. I no longer use normal mechanic roll-arounds for anything more than what amounts to "work station" status.

Here are some of the automotive tool drawers. These were taken quite some time back, and they are a bit heavier loaded now, but you get the idea. That particular cabinet has 20 drawers. The others have fewer but deeper drawers. Each is rated for 400 lbs, and some are pushing that limit (though not these).

Nice! I have been thinking about investing in some Lista cabs.

My dad. :D

I'm generally turning the wrenches and he's handing crap to me while I'm in precarious situations so he keeps stuff organized.

A couple of the guys at work have those and I guess they are ok. I have the hansen racks like a lot of guys and they work ok. May have to build a setup to fit exactly as I want in my cart to save space.
