So, this guy who has a truck he's selling says he has a "set of 3:73 axles to install on it. It has 3:07's on it now." I think it means if I were to have the axles swapped (doubt I could do it myself), the gear ratios would become 3:73, right?
That would be better for daily driving...?
PS. Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help I have recieved over the last few weeks!

Four wheel drive, four wheel expenses...

Yep. Easy swap to do yourself and save money.

Changing the axles IS NOT going to change the gear ratio.Maybe he has a set of 3.73 gears for it?

Ask if he has the whole axles (and if so what are they? 10 bolt? 12 bolt 14 Bolt Full floater, Dana 60?) if he doesn't have the whole axles then he just has the gears or as some call them the ring and pinion. These are kinda tough for the shadetree to install. swapping the whole axle assembly out one for another though is really easy. Maybe see if you can have a gearhead friend or maybe you can even find a CK5 member near you to help you w/ the swap on a saturday for a couple beers and some grub.
