I know my single rear wheel cab and chassis seams to be a full width rear axle but the 75 that I got rid of earlier this year was narrow. From the spring perch to the drum backing plate was only a few inches, like maybe 2". whearas the normal axle is (just off the top of my head) closer to 6 inches away from the spring perch.
I noticed this because I only put the outside dually wheels on the truck to tow it home and once I cut the tow bed up and got it off the wheels did NOT stick out further than the cab, at least not by much. That got me to looking and thats when I noticed the backing plate was way closer to the spring perch than other axles I have around here.
BUT is this axle swapped into a normal dually (non cab and chassis) frame? All the cab and chassis frames I have ever looked at had a lot longer frame than one with a pickup bed. Of course It coul be cut down I guess.
Dr emu do you happen to have a pic of your inner fender wells? whats the distance between them? In fact wheres your build thread? your slacking off here mister!
I was just sitting here thinking about a reg cab with a 10 foot pickup box and stealth duals, slight lift and 4wd, ladder type rack over the top. Yea that would be a good work truck.
