Steer box for crossover?

Yes. The ad says it came out of an 80's truck so that would make it an O-ring fitting box.

how can you tell the diffrence between a 2wd and a 4wd box by looking at it? I have one laying around that i think is a 2wd but how can i be sure?

2WD boxes are splined all the way around, the 4WD ones are splined 1/3 of the way or so.

The 2WD sector shafts (the splined part that sticks out the bottom) are threaded at the bottom and use a nut to hold the pitman arm on.

The 4WD ones use a notch in the sector shaft and there is a bolt that clamps the pitman arm onto the sector shaft.

bought my rebuild for $100 at an automotive swap meet
it's all they do, rebuild OEM stuff
dunno if that's a good price, but it's something to consider when buying used, possible rebuilds
