ok well i thought i had finially fixed my death wobble... i changed out the bearings then replaced the worn out steering stabilizer. 2 test runs seeemed ok and then,,,,,,,, i started driving right after the new stabilizer was installed and i go to turn and i just keep going straight... everything is hooded up and i could hear the power steerng pump trying to work. if i let it idel forward and turn very very slow it can turn but if i turn like normal nope i just keep going... does this sound like the gear box? also what kind of new set up should i go? its all stock for now... thanx pants:bow:

Do you mean to say that if you turn the steering wheel the front wheels do not turn, or do you mean to say if you turn the steering wheel, it fights you unless you turn it slow?

If the former, then something is broke, no matter how loose something is, if you can turn the wheel and the wheels don't follow, somethings broke. Steer shaft, drag link, or the box.

If the latter, it's probably just your pump, the steering stabilizer was just the last straw for it to fight.

Best way to diagnose these problems is to keep it on the ground, start it up, have a buddy turn the wheel, and you get under and watch everything to whats loose.

Did you disconnect the lines going to either the power steering pump or gear box????

When I changed my gear box it did the same thing. I know I didn't bleed it right I was in a hurry. Came home and took my time bleeding it correctly and the problem went away.

Is your truck shaking uncontrollably? or what 75 blazer said?

i think the box is broke... i turned the wheel turned easy as it should but the wheels didnt turn. nothing is disconected. if i turn the wheel slowly the tires will turn a lil bit but not much

Hopefully you allready checked the frame. Or bolts that attach the gear box. If either arew broke the the gear box is turning the frame instead of the tires.

Did you ever get this solved???? If you didn't disconnect anything and there was no need to blleed the gear box or pump then I would check the frame for cracks, and after that replace the gear box.

I got a rebuilt one from VATOZONE for less than $150 and I am surprised how good it works. I have crossover and highsteer and it turns with a pinky no force at all. I have hydroboost and power steering with 37's.

Let us know what happens???

Sorry, what would be the advantages of cross over steering? I've seen it on a few rigs but never heard why. And (noob question) what is Hi-Steer? I've heard this term quite a few times and still never learned what it is and why it's used.
