steering arm fix

Yep, that's the right thing. Heck of a lot better than the dropped draglink which are a pain to adjust.

Do a search on removing the old steering arm as you will find a wealth on info on how to soak it, heat it and beat it. The cone washers are particularly evil.

Looks like yours doesn't come with new studs or cones, just nuts, so do your best to save the existing studs and washers. Worst case you can get those separate, like

i already got it on about 4 pm took it for a test drive, and it turns a lot better than before,i can turn both ways without backing up. Turning to the right was a pain, now its cake.

The cones came lose when i whacked them with a brass punch. cleaned and painted the surface under it before putting it back on.and the studs looked better than i expected
like it has been replaced before.had to replace the tie rod end it buggered up the threads when pulling it off. I didnt have a puller just use a BFH

Changing the steering arm theoretically can't cause it to pull. It WILL cause your steering wheel to be off center until you fine tune the length of the drag link, but that's easy. Is this what you're referring to or does the truck actuall PULL right? If so, did it do this before the steering arm?

It pulls to the right and no it did not pull ,its just needs adjusting in to stop the pull

Yeah, I wouldn't think the steering arm would affect pull. The only idea I have is if it was far enough off that the variable ratio of the steering box was coming into play somehow.

Well when you rush and dont get the tie rod in right it will.
And it cant be anything else the tie rod and the steering arm is the
Only thing that was changed

Just to be clear, were you referring to the 'tie rod' as the link between the pitman arm and steering arm? I think that might be what's confusing me. That's the drag link (even though it has tie rod ends) which is what you adjust to straighten the steering wheel. The 'tie rod' is the link from one tire to the other in front of the axle. You wouldn't have needed to mess with it for your steering arm replacement which is why I said it shouldn't have changed.

Any any event, glad it's fixed.
