I have a 87 K5, 5.7 L 700 r4 392 gears. I had truck for over 10 years.Few years ago I had issue with steering box and frame. Bolts we're going rite through. I got a plate welded at frame. Box was stable but when I cut the wheel it would make noise. Sounded like it was rubbing or hitting something.I figured it was a problem with a ball joint or steering arm. I got the front end checked out they said it was fine. I don't think much of it and I dealt with it. 2 years later a few weeks ago one of the bolts breaks on the steering box. Truck was all over the place. I made it home 5 miles parked it. Bought new steering box, pump and rag joint. I go pull it out to take it to my mechanic the hole box dropped out. I got everything put in. The truck steers nice now but it's still making that noise. I think the the frame is rubbing against the bumper when I turn it all the way to the right or left. I just recently bought the steering brace from ord. I didn't put it in yet. Will that help and Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue once and for all? Thank u for help.

Put in Orb a Steering Brace with 7/16 x 14 x4 Grade 8 Bolts. Problem Corrected. Steering Tight and Flawless

I am guessing that you checked the frame again when you changed the box?
You may want to check that the rivets that hold the front crossmember to the frame are not loose as well.
Other than that, I would suggest checking the mounting bolts and all of it every so often to CYA.
Just a friendly suggestion.

Thank u. I will check the crossmember today and definitely check the bolts every so often . More often than not. Thx Again

The ORD bolt in steering box brace will do nothing but help you. It's kind of become the standard along with the Weld in frame repair kit that you presumably have already.
