Hello Members I have been contemplating different routes to go on getting a steering box for my 89 K5. Mines leak from top seal and I was going to change out to another box and get my original one rebuilt or replace top seal using a kit. I was looking into Purchasing an already rebuilt one from Redtop. I also checked another company called Bluetop for rebuild. I believe he originally worked at Redtop then left and opened his own company rebuilding steering boxes/gears. The other is purchasing a GM rebuilt or remanufactured box number 78184HR from one of several different places. I want to keep my original box and get it rebuilt. It appears the particular steering box in my 89 Blazer was used in many model trucks and years. Has anyone purchased the 78184HR box or know about it.
