Is this the jam nut to get rid of the play in the steering box? I can turn the wheel 1/4 turn each way without the truck turning. It/ didn't do it before I swapped the box, so that has to be it.

i had to tighten mine from the front of the box where the steering input shaft is. You break the jam nut (looks more like a ring) and tighten the center till all the play is gone them jam it back up /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif that worked for me but i'm not sure what that nut is for /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Thanks for the explanation. I saw a thread where someone was talking about it, but when they said front of the box, I was thinking towards the front of the truck. Way off! /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif Now I kinda know where I'm headed.
