Steering box?

I am looking for a two wheel drive reman steering box for my 1 ton swap. Where is the best (read cheapest ) place to get a new box? Would any of the autozone,checkers napa have something that is decent quality ?Thanks

Check this thread out. I don't know if they have 2WD boxes or not but about as cheap as they come. You could always get a sector shaft from a 2WD JY Pick a part and throw it in the new one.

Autozone has them in the $175 range IIRC.

i got a 2x4 i am stipping out . it came from tennese and has 138k on it it had a v6 hp motor haha. pm me if you want it . its a 86 year, dont forget the lines are diff from older about 81or 82 up

I got one from O'Reilly for $140 something, I hope it continues to work this good, it's about a year and a half old now.

Give Matt a call @ http://westtexasoffroad.homestead.com/index.html I knw they will rebuild and tap your box for hydro so I would think they would rebuild it without the tapping.If you think hydro is something you would like to do in the future have him tap it at the same thime.
