steering boxes

I have a 72 full convertable jimmy and the steering box is shot.I was givin a 77 blazer for helping do an axle swap.Will the steering box out of the 77 bolt right up to my 72.Also is there any other things that I can do with the left over parts.My friend is only using the axles to put in his 83 blazer.I'll have acess to the rest of the truck,transfer case,tranny,ect,ect,.It will then go to blazer heaven.As you can tell I"m a newbie.So all the help will be appreciated.

The steering box will swap (assuming no one else swapped a later one into the 77). Up until 1980 1st design the hose fittings were flare style, 2nd design was mid 1980-up and were O-ring style.

Before you sent the carcass off to the wrecker, nab the regulators and related guts out of all the doors and tailgate and just hold onto them. I guarantee you will thank yourself on the day when you need a new one of those. I've had a hard time finding those even in junk yards.
