Has anybody here ever swapped a steering collumn from a ifs newer body style pickup into an older 80s style pickup? The collumn is from a 95 silverado, and I am wanting to do this to my 85 m1008 because the collumn shifters are cable driven instead of that pivoting linkage bs which would work perfectly for the 4l80e. There is also a small compartment in the steering wheel where the air bag would have gone that pops off pretty readily. I was thinking it would be the perfect little compartment to carry my pistol in. Maybe mount a holster to the back of the cover that pops off, so that when the cover is popped off the pistol will come off with it in the holster. What do you guys think? and has anybody done this or have a writeup on how to go about it?

hmm might have to check this kit out, looks like its exactly what I need. Also I definitely wouldn't be driving around with 1 in the chamber, that would be wreckless, just had another one of my hair brained ideas. But thinking some more, it pb wouldn't be a secret since I would be popping it on and off whenever I took it out of the vehicle.

Another reason I was considering it though is I am already in the process of ripping the dash structure out to swap in the a/c hardware and dash from the 95 pickup I mentioned.
