What are the differences (besides the column shifter and indicator) between a 1972 automatic floor shift column and a manual floor shift column?
I know the auto column has the leg at the bottom for connecting the linkage but I wouldn't need that with an auto floor shifter and it wouldn't hurt if it was also there.
Would the auto column have a provision for a neutral safety/backup switch? Anything other differences?

The auto column would have the neutral safety switch and backup lights. The problem would be is that you would have to shift that column to use those feathers.

Thanks, I'm assuming you meant features? I have the neutral safety switch hooked up to my auto floor shifter now. In the Lokar instructions it states that you can use the neutral safety switch "OR" backup switch but not both.
The reason I ask is my 50 year old steering column could use a rebuild so might as well get one that doesn't have the now un-needed indicator hole and shifter nub. I see them advertised as floor shifter columns but they rarely say if it's a manual or auto floor column.
