I am looking for a steering column guard to make my 1990 K5 a little less appealing to a potential thief. I understand how easy it is to get in, smash the column and make a quick get away. I contacted the Steadfast Company and asked about their riveted on steering column guard. The sales person really seemed to have no idea about their products and told me that they did not have one for my application because my Blazer does not have tilt steering. Also has floor mounted standard shifter. She said they did have one that would "possibly" fit, but it is some bulky clamshell contraption that you have to take on and off to drive the truck. Any ideas or does anyone have a part number that might fit my truck??

Thanks

I have the bulky clamshell in mine. I thought I would hate it, but honestly, once you get the rhythm down, it takes about 5 seconds to get it off and about the same to reinstall it. And yes the red powdercoat looks horrible looking through the window (gaudy as hell), but its a deterrent vs the black of the ones that rivet in place a thief may not notice until theyve already smashed your window.
