I need to replace the steering column on my 82 Jimmy. Do I need to get one from certain years? I am thinking 1982 to 1984 interchage, but could be wrong? Can I use a 87?

does your truck have the wipers on the dash and the blinkers on the column?

i was told that if thats the case you need a column outta a truck with the same set up.

i have a column outta an 82 2wd pickup with the pigtials for it, non tilt for sale.

82 does not have the wipers on the column, they're in the dash. 83 is when they started on the column, so no, it wont work.

What is involved with swapping to a newer column with wiper controls on the colum? I would rather have that anyways.

my 83 was not on colum. i think its 84 and up.

My Blazer says '83 on the title and the VIN # concures, but since my trucks manufacture date was in NOV of '82, the common month to start calling them next years truck, My truck has the blinkers in the bumper like an '82 and wipers in the dash, like an '82. Just one of the years that when it was made makes all the difference

the proper wiring harness for under the dash, and a new dash bezel

What I meant to ask was does the swap involve just swapping out pigtails or do I need to do a bunch of cutting and splicing of wire. Thanks for the info though.
