anybody ever try to put and 89 or newer column in a 78 blazer im thinking of giving it a try was just wondering if somebody else has already done it for pointers or i will have to wing it

I put an '84 tilt column in a '73, that was plug and play aside from the shaft spline count that mates to the intermediate shaft, but I was gettin' a new intermediate shaft anyway so it didn't matter for me.
Not sure if '89 has any differences, I doubt it, mabey more little brackets to hang elec. modules and wire harnesses off of perhaps

What about the wiper switch & lights, dimmer switches ?...
Later colums have the "stalk switch" ,older rigs had the stomp switch for the dimmer, and separate dash mounted switches...

I haven't swapped any colums other than ones that were the same,so I'm clueless about that part of the swap..

also 88-up NEW BODY style don't swap over with out lots of work .

only 88-91 square body stuff. or older 87 back .

Well y'all it can be done I have the column mounted and connected to the steering box and it looks good and clean just have to do a miner shift linkage mod and plug in all the wiring I think it will be perfect

Pretty easy and looks really clean wiring looks like it will be plug and play I will finish today or tomorrow i may even move the headlight controls to the column if it's not going to be a pain in the ass
