Ok guys I had to swap out steering columns today from a 73 to a 77 k10. Everything went together fine, put the truck in reverse backed out, put it in drive and off I went. Only problem is when I shifted in to park, it was actually in reverse. When I had the column out I removed the bearing, spring, and shift tube to clean it and re-grease. Did I miss an important step in putting it back together?
The shift tube can only be installed with the column in the park position. My problem was as simple as adjusting the tranny linkage
