I have a 1986 K5 Silverado that came with manual transmission and I am swapping to TH400. I bought the blazer in pieces and am trying to put back together and fix it up. I have a 3 questions with pics if anyone can help:

1) As mentioned, i am swapping to auto transmission and i just completed a steering column swap (out of 1984 Suburban) this weekend to a column shift with cruise and tilt. on the new column there is a place for something to plug in at the base of the column at the firewall on the inside of the cab. This was not on the old manual column. What is it and what, if anything do i need to plug in or wire in there?

2) There is a black wire that runs down the new steering column that was not on the manual column. What is it and where does it go?

3) There is an electrical box that was connected to the new column that was not part of the manual column. What is it?

the white horse shoe thing is the neutral safety switch you can use the purple and yellow wires from other post. Also the reverse light switch is here.

The fined box thing is the wiper delay module. the small plug is the cruise switch wiring from turn signal stalk

1) I think that is the neutral safety switch but I was thinking there should be a provision for 2 connectors - neutral safety switch and back up light.
2) cruise control
3) wiper delay module (not reproduced aftermarket so if it's good, it may be worth selling)

I just saw your other post. I will try the wiring here. Thanks again.

the blue and yellow will be wire as the purple here. the 2 green are the reverse lamp switch. This is a 72 drawing so yours might be different.

Also note that the switch is adjustable. New ones come with a pin that must be removed after install. Hard to explain but the switch face slider right and left on the base clipped into the column. You may need to slide one way or the other to get switch to close in park and neutral. If you get adjusted for starting the reverse switch should close with reverse gear selected.

On some vehicles, not sure if it's the same on a K5 with a manual transmission......the neutral safety switch is connected at the top of the clutch pedal.

The hydraulic pedal assembly is worth up to $500 if you are not in a hurry to sell it. The manual column is also worth money, up to $1500 if it is a tilt, up to $300 if non-tilt.
