Hey guys, I am thinking about upgrading the steering column in my '78 Suburban 4x4.
My truck is a floor shifted (SM465)truck, so do not need a shifter, but I want to have the headlight switch, turn signals, and wipers on the column. Right now all my switchs are on the dash except the turn signals, and I would like them on the steering column...any suggestions as to what year steering column will fit and give me what I want?

82ish and up, I think, should give you what you want. Keep in mind that you will have to do some re-wiring when you put in the new column to control your wipers and your headlights. Not sure how to do this as I thought about it at one time then decided it would be easier just to leave everything alone in the end.

Actually I think it's '84+ for column mounted wipers/headlight dimmer.

My '83 wasn't, so I know you'd want something newer.

Plan to spend time re-wiring stuff, as the column plug wiring changed.
