i have a 74 2 wheel drive chevy that my tilt column is shot, im looking for a column to replace it, tilt or not, its 2 wheel drive auto with blinkers only, anyone have something that would work?

I have 2 non-tilt columns, one from an '82 and one from an '87. I'm not sure if they will directly swap into a '74, I read something about the ignition switch being rotated 180 deg., but that is probably an easy thing to remedy. PM me if you're interested. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I have a column out of a 76 blazer. Tilt and I believe its blinkers only. If the above mentioned doesn't work out let me know.

One thing to remember is when they changed from glass fuses to blade style the wiring changed just enough not to be compatible without changing stuff around.

84-up was wipers and brights on the column, 83 was still on the dash, .

and the column harness changed from half moon shape to flat style before 73

I know I am hijacing, but it almost relates. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif

I have a 1971 and it has a half moon wiring connector. Now I also think the steering column has been replaced once, not sure why they sure picked a piece of junk if it has. So if I want to keep the wiring as is I should get a 1973-?? to have only blinkers on the column?

Also what year did they move the ingition switch to the steering column?

Thanks John
