I need to get my steering column rebuilt on my 88 burban and want to know if anybody knows of a low cost place in or close to los angeles.

I'm low cost but not close to LA :doah:
What's wrong with it, maybe just do it yourself? They can be intimidating for your first time but take notice of how it comes apart and there's lots of good info online to help.

Well its just the bearing that comes out where the steering shaft is. But Id rather get the whole thing done to be on the safe side. What else is there to the column as in bearings etc.

Thats alot of chit. How much would it cost to get the whole thing done or can I just get away with changing the bearing it #196 by the way.

You could be looking at quite a bit of labor to tear the column all the way down, probably 2-3 hours realistically if you have a shop do it.
Might be cheaper to find a whole column at a bone yard for less, then you'd have lots of spare parts and could swap the whole thing yourself for free!

i agree that it can intimidating, but get a spare for parts and dig in. it's really not bad. it took me about 2 hours to go through mine...i had a bent shaft on mine, so i had to change out so i could go a smaller, more bling steering wheel.

I can fix the loose tilt column for $75.00 and you pay shipping both ways. I'm in Northern Ca. San Francisco bay area to be exact.
