Looking for a steering column for a 77 K20 with Auto trans. Tilt or not is not a deal breaker, but must have keys.

I'm in Edmonton Alberta.

If you do not find one from one of the members, You may check with New Boyz Square Body Rescue ... they are on Facebook as well as have a web page.

I believe they are located in PA

They are very legit and have been extremely helpful with a lot of parts I need. They have recently started rebuilding steering columns as well.

Good Luck.

What's specific about the 1977?
Any difference between 1973 and 1980?

I'm not 100%, but I did read the spline count changed around then, the 77 having the 3/4" 36 spline, and later having the 1" double D. There were also changes to the electrical plug. So I was hoping for an early column...

I understand a fella could modify and make a later one work too.

Anyways, it's for a '77 K20.

I’m pretty sure @captron had one leftover from the swap meet this weekend. Not sure what the shipping would be to canuckistan but it’s an option. His had the wheel and intermediate shaft on it but I bet with them off it could pack down into a much smaller box.

I am almost positive the column I still have is an 84/85 or newer as it has the windshield wiper control on the turn signal stalk.
Unfortunately it is packed in my enclosed swap meet trailer so I am not currently able to verify or get pics.

With that being said I put a newer column in my 77 Crawlabago and do not remember the wiring not plugging right in. At most I might have had to re-pin a couple of wires. As far as spline/double D stuff I probably used the complete shaft/column as an assembly and changed it at the rag joint.

I have a 74 with keys, I will check on the condition. It sat for 34 years.

1973-78 all have the splined shaft and are identical. 78-83 switched to double D but otherwise the same. I can check what i have laying around tomorrow. I had a tilt column with the auto shift lever cut off.

To ship a column economically (not counting Canada, we know that isn't possible), I would have to remove steering wheel, intermediate shaft, shift lever, and turn signal lever. Everything but the steering wheel can fit in one smaller box.

When you have time to check, please let me know. I don't need the steering wheel itself, or the intermediate shaft so hopefully that simplifies things.

I will wait for Kenny, he is closer and his parts are fresher.
If it doesn't work out mine is here.

The only column I have available is in the 83 K10 parts truck. It is a tilt-automatic column but the shift lever was removed/missing because it was in a manual transmission truck. This one would require changing the intermediate shaft which is currently attached to the column. I just confirmed the wiring pin outs are identical for 1977 and 1983 on the factory wiring diagrams as well (as well as connector shapes on the diagrams). I plan to roll that truck into the shop this weekend to finish stripping it down. I would do $100 US plus shipping on this one if everything looks good.
