So I noticed my drag link and tie rod are rubbing when turning and flexed. It doesn't look to be bad but I'm not sure how I could fix it.

WWCK5D ?

You can get a flatter pitman arm that will give you another inch or so, IIRC ORD sells one. Some better bumps limiting travel would be a wise investment as well.

I pierced together these high steer parts, at this point I wish I had bought a kit of left the tie rod in the stock spot.

The truck has ~7" lift so I never thought the 2 would come in contact even though the axle is pushed forward.

You need to run reverse hi-steer. I ran it on my k5 when i had the axle about 3-3.5” forward and 7-8” lift. Moves the tie-rod behind the pumpkin and out of harms way and you’ll never have any binding issues. I was running arms from NWF, not sure if they still make them though

Dug a pic up from one of my old threads on my k5’s setup. Cant find a pic with the hydro assist mount we built for it, but if i find it i will post as well.

Just an FYI, if you do decide to buy the pitman arm that has less drop, (more flat) you will have to grind some of the end off of the tie rod end stub. You can make it clear the frame, just do some testing. I believe that I even drilled mine to put the cotter pin hole farther down.

And a picture just cuz, and to show why I needed the flatter one.
:D

keep in mind that if you decide to put the tie rod behind the axle you'll likely run into other clearance issues, especially with hydro assist.

I feel the fun in this mod slowly slipping away....

I'm sure the idea is frowned upon, but why not just let it eat? It looks to be very light contact?

If my option is new arms and possibly ends to match I may very well let it ride. I did have some steering difficulty when I took it wheeling but I attributed that to the Power Lock and no assist.

So it appears that if you only had only moved the axle 1.5" forward, they would clear? Dang it.

Probably. I haven’t flexed it to see the contact in action but it doesn’t look like it’s hitting hard.
