I installed a 2" drop pitman arm from Offroad Design and now my steering is restricted from turning to the left. After comparing the stock pitman arm to the drop it looks like the hole for the drag link is in fact closer to the axle. I tried collapsing the drag link but it bottoms out ( threaded ends touch) before I can get it to collapse enough to go back in the pitman arm. My question is, have anyone encountered this and should I trim off a 1/4 inch off each threaded end? Allowing me to collapse it further? On the ORD site the pitman arm says to correct 3" to 4" lifts. I have a 2" TC lift but the drag link is not running flat so I don't think it is too much drop.

The front drag link ball joint is longer than the rear by about 2" so running two rears doesn't seem to be an option. Any help is appreciated. Thx

Forgot the pictures

I may have to go back to the stock pitman arm and see if it solves the issue.

you did not need any correction and the arm is more than you need even if you wanted perfect . you are over corrected now .

go read this post from stephen at ord .

Thanks Sweetk30, I think I just needed to talk it out loud to myself to figure out my problem but the information you provided affirmed it. Guess I have a 2" drop pitman arm for sale now. :surepal:

And just for future reference, you can cut the drag links to shorten them. I am running zero rate blocks, with the axle moved forward, and a stock drag link setup. I have to cut the drag links down so they don't bottom out.

This ^ all the aftermarket drag link ends I’ve bought needed .5” or so cut off
