Bought my 73 with an 8" lift (all springs). Previous owner did what looks to me like a nice job on steering - raised steering arm, adjustable draglink. I had to go to a 4" lift to get it to fit in the garage. The adjustable draglink doesnt have enough adjustment in it to reconnect with the lower ride height. If I could find a flat (ie not raised) steering arm, I think that would work good but nobody seems to make that. Any suggestions?

There should be plenty of used ones out there from people who put a lift on and need to get a raised steering arm. Look in the wanted section.

Or look at going back to a factory draglink. 3" arm and stock draglink seems to be okay with 4" lift...

Stock drag links are adjustable and flat. if you have the curved drag link I'd go back to stock and keep the raised steering arm.

It should also be said that between the 2 parts, replacing the steering arm is a real PITA. As stated, replacing the curved drag link with a flat one will solve the issue and be a much easier job.

Thanks guys. Pretty sure a flat draglink wont do it because I tried it with the adjustable one upside down (angled up rather than down) and it wasnt enough. Anyone have a link or part number for the stock height drag link or steering arm?

Pictures of current and before scenario?

Forgot to mention that these are all current condition. I unhooked the adjustable drag link from the pittman arm when I swapped out springs and shocks. Didn't want the weight of the truck on the steering. As you can see, adjustable drag link is still attached to the raised steering arm.

you might get away with just the stock drag link . but i think you will need to swap to a shorter raised arm or stock arm .

that combo now looks super close to being past the safe points like stephen said in the link i posted .

good news is the arm should come off easy since its all new stuff.

Does anyone have part numbers or links for the stock height steering arm and drag link? I have been looking and havent been finding.

The drag link can be pieced together from any parts store. Two ends and a connecting shaft. If your ends will still work the shaft is around $20.

Also, you have more adjustment in your current drag link. It looks like your drag link end is adjusted all the way in on the arm side. It still won’t help your angles, but thought I’d mention.

Don't replace the arm with a stocker. Find a raised arm good for a 2"-4" lift. (eBay) Then run a stock draglink threaded piece to replace your "S" one. Then....drive it.

rockauto.com or any parts store can get them for you with these 3 part #'s .

es2027L
es2026R
es362s

moog part #'s for the 2 ends and center sleeve .

Thanks guys! Just ordered the drag link parts. If anyone has a line on the steering arm, it would be much appreciated
