It's not a chevrolet...its an 87 jeep grand wagoneer.

Trucks specs: 360, stock power steering system. Cross-over steering on 12" chevrolet springs, with 39.5 tsls on 15x14 wheels.

When we first built the truck, the steering was great. Could use one finger to turn the truck, now it does not turn right for crap.

Taching the motor up to build more pressure Does help a little bit, but not a whole lot. With the tires off the ground the system is once again effortless...

I was thinking something wrong inside the box? Anybody have an input/experiences along these lines?

Thanks chris

The spool valve in the steering box is leaking internally. The only fix is to rebuild that box or install another.

Sounds like a problem inside the steering gear - probably a bad seal. Probably easiset to swap another gear in.

You can still get allmost anywhere by turning Right only, it just takes longer.............................:D:haha: :haha: :haha:Sorry, could'nt resist.
