steering gear 79 wtb

hose info

the old style were 45 flare. the new are flat with oring lip . if possible get pump and hoses from 87 . or make change over hoses from both sets.

this is allways the way my luck goes . i thought it fit rite on my truck and wouldnt cost me nuthing. but i just went and bought a rebuilt one for 200 bucs .

A good parts house will let you swap the nut out in the back of you’re pump with one that will work for you out of a core they have laying around. That and some new hoses and it’s a done deal. :thumb:

yep swap the nut in back of your pump and youll be fine, the only real problem is the hi side hose it is one piece hose, and you need o ring type end fitting for lo side, me and many other ppl here have fitting and hose end laying around and maybe even an 80-up hi side hose assembly too,

79 older were flare seat

80 up o ring

as you have found out and many others have in the past

and will in the future

good luck

I pulled the original steering box off of my '79 K20 when I put in the 6.2L diesel w/hydroboost and had to go to o-ring style fittings (since my donor was an '84). Everything was working good when I pulled it and I'd sell it for $25 plus shipping.
