I am installing a 4 inch lift and need to remove the steering arm off the axle. Whats the best way to dothis. I have smacked on it with a BFH but it wont budge what am I doing wrong.
Everyone talked about how difficult this is....and I imagine how it could be. But....
Last weekend I replaced a dropped pitman arm (worn out) with a standard pitman arm and a raised steering arm. I took off the nuts, tapped it one time with a nail hammer, pulled out the cone washers, tapped it again and pulled it off. Easy as pie. I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
