i am at my wits end. i have been through my entire steering system numerous times, and i still can't get it to work right. here's what i got:

ord d60 x-over
psc 2wd box
new pump
new lines

when i did my steering in december, it worked awesome all winter long. now the damn thing sucks. I recently replaced the pump and lines in a effort to fix it, but no go. sometimes i get power assist, sometimes not. the truck swims all over the road at times. when i make a turn, the truck wants to continue turning, until i crank the wheel back in the opposite direction. I am constantly fighting my steering wheel. my alignment is good, and the front end is tight on new tires. I have flushed out the resivoir, and lines, re-filled and bled the system, and it still acts up. I dunno what the hell is wrong with it.

i just hope someone might have some idea about it.

Whats the frame look like around the steering box? If the box isn't secure to the frame the truck will wander all over the place.

i got both the weld in plate, and an ord crossmember brace on it, and yes, i've already re-torqued the box.

i bought the box new in december, and i've heard only good things about psc, but i suppose it could be a bad one. there is no fluid leakage around the lines or the box. i have stipulated that something is internally wrong with the box, but i just find it hard to belive this of the new psc component.

thanks

One last thing to check, look at you springs and see if there is evidence of the axle moving back and forth, you might have sheared a centering pin on the springs.

thanks, i checked that, but its fine, and the springs were replaced in december as well.

i'm gonna start with new stubshafts and u-joints, as part of the 35 spline upgrade i've been planning, see if that makes any difference. otherwise, looks like i'm buying another box, i just hope psc will warranty the old one, its less than 6 mos old.?.
