Replacing my leaky input shaft seal on my gear box and got the retaining clip off, was able pop out the first seal which according to the diagram is a outer dust seal but the kit also comes with a inner seal too. it has the spring around the inside and how do you remove this seal from the gear box? Looks like this is the actual seal that is leaking but puzzled how to remove it w/o damaging anything else. Thx

Lots of people will remove the clip then the dust seal then start the engine and turn the wheels either direction full lock and the pressure will pop the seal out (will make a small mess quickly though if you don't shut the engine off quick enough).

I was able to pop the inner seal enough to use a pick tool to walk it out. As a result of removing the steering shaft I noticed the collar that keeps the shaft centered up at the firewall had come unseated. Not having much luck getting it back in place. Should I use a large socket to tap it back in? I took off the round cotter pin thinking that would allow it to reseat by hand but no dice.
