so i still have the stock 4wd steering box in my 85 blazer and i can move the steering wheel quite a bit before anything actually happens. Also, my steering squeaks a lot when turning left. I just bled the pump, but I may not have done a good enough job. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Play in the steering is somewhat typical of these steering systems, depends on how much there is.

When you say it squeaks, is the belt slipping?

could be the belt, seems pretty tight and new. earlier when I was stopped and started cranking the wheel to the left it was more difficult to turn than to the right and also made a belt squealing noise. guess ill have to check the belt again and tighten it.

J/K steering shaft and steering box adjustment made mine feel like it was an indy car. Make sure all of your joints are good too.

You've been here long enough to know this already but:

Steering brace installed?

You'll never get decent steering with a bunch of cracks in your frame... :deal:

Yep I have the weld in one but I need to get the bolt in one.

How are your ball joints? Loose ball joints can make for some funny steering characteristics!

Ill have to check my ball joints but chances are they need to be replaced, need to replace my drag link ends as well.
